For the past several years, Dr. Rich Trenholm and Dr. Chad Barber have been working together as independent health care providers for people with sports, exercise and activity based injuries and concerns. We identify ourselves a health professionals that manage “sports, exercise and activity based” medicine concerns since we understand that believe that this is more inclusive of who we see and what we manage at Reactivate.
Not everyone has a “sport” that they are engaged and committed to. But some are.
Not everyone is engaged in regular “exercise routine”. But some do.
Not everyone does “activities” for enjoyment that involve physical exertion. But most do. Whether that is climbing a mountain or walking a dog.
At the bottom of it all, we want our clients to enjoy life to its fullest. However, sometimes a nagging old injury is getting in the way of them fully engaging and enjoying that activity. On the flip side, we have clients who have sustained an acute injury in a sport that they are participating in. That injury needs attention so that they can get treated properly in order to return quickly, in the best condition possible, to their sport.
Each one of us at Reactivate has our strengths. Doctors Pierre Mikhail and Rich Trenholm focus on sport, each with their own sub specialty areas. The role of the sport and exercise medicine physician is one of a diagnostician. In essence, that means that we figure out what is going on. It’s hard to get a proper treatment protocol put in the place to get our clients better until we know exactly what we are dealing with. Once we know what’s going on, we can provide our rehabilitation team with a firm basis by which to apply particular treatment and exercise prescriptions in order to have a targeted and goal oriented treatment plan for our clients to get better and back doing the things that they love.
One of the biggest missing elements in the rehabilitation process for people going through treatment, is the “what do I do after physiotherapy” face. At Reactivate we are working hard to bridge that gap so that when you get back to your activity, sport or adventure, there’s no apprehension. We want you to be confident that your body is ready for whatever you're doing. Basically, we don’t want you second-guessing that you’re not ready to live life to the fullest.
So what are you waiting for? Let us help you get you back to enjoying life and all it has to offer.
Let us Reactivate you.
