Madelyn grew up living a very active lifestyle while playing competitive soccer for 14 years, and was a competitive dancer for 9 years.

This undoubtedly took a toll on her body, and required regular rehabilitative treatments to keep her body in the best condition possible in order to prevent injuries that may have required her to alter her competitive level while she rehabilitated.

This is something that she didn’t want to do as she loved, and continues to love, being very active.

This was one of the main drivers for her to become a Registered Massage Therapist. Not only in herself, but with her fellow soccer players and dancers, she was able to witness how intense training and competition resulted in muscle imbalances throughout the body with repetivite loading and stresses, as well as wear and tear from smaller, but cumulative, injuries that occurred over time.

She graduated in 2021 from the Registered Massage Therapy program at Georgian College in Barrie, and has returned back to Muskoka where she grew up to work with our very active community of kids, adults, and older adults.

Madelyn has a diverse skill set ranging from relaxing massage treatments, but her true passion lies in the deep massage therapy as a way of helping muscles work independently of each other, releasing scar tissue from accumulated stress and injuries, relieving pain, and improving blood flow to the areas of the body that need to heal.

Outside of Reactivate, she continues to lead an active lifestyle with her passion for soccer, as well as strength and conditioning. She is very excited to be a part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team at Reactivate that shares the same mindset that we are made to move!
