Dr. Megan arlidge (Fisher)

CHIROPRACTOR, Strength & conditioning sPecialist

B.Sc. Kin, D.C., CSCS, Acu Provider

Dr. Arlidge grew up in Collingwood, Ontario, where she was heavily involved with the alpine community as a competitive downhill ski racer and coach at Craigleith Ski Club.

Outside of skiing, she was extremely active in both sports and academics in the Collingwood community.

After leaving her hometown, she moved to Kingston to pursue a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology at Queen’s University, from which she graduated with Honours.

During her time at Queen’s, she was a varsity rower and completed Queen’s intensive and integrated three year strength and conditioning internship. Her aptitude, enthusiasm and knowledge were celebrated with her being awarded the Queen’s Varsity Services Award for Excellence in Strength and Conditioning in 2015.

Her academic and athletic pursuits didn’t stop there. Dr. Arlidge built on her knowledge base as an honours Kinesiology graduate from one of Ontario’s finest programs, along with her strength and conditioning knowledge base, to earn a spot at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College where she completed her Chiropractic training, along with additional certification in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture at McMaster University.

Throughout her years in chiropractic college, she worked at the prestigious Totum Life Science facility as a youth strength and conditioning coach. There she worked with competitive youth athletes, as well as youth working towards a healthier lifestyle, to develop strength, speed and agility in addition to improving their mobility, coordination and balance. This would lead to improved performance, but additionally it would serve to reduce the risk of injury while these youth participated in their sport of choice. In addition to her already busy schedule, Megan continued to work as a racing coach on the weekends at Craigleith Ski Club in Collingwood.

Dr. Arlidge collaborates with her patients to design individualized treatment plans based on exercise-based medical and rehabilitative techniques. She combines manual techniques involving soft tissue therapies, joint mobilization and manipulation, and contemporary medical acupuncture with active care and therapeutic exercise. She is a firm believer and advocate that exercise is medicine, and strongly encourages her patients to embrace and engage in this treatment philosophy. Megan is a strong believer in continued education, and in addition to her certifications as an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and CSCF Alpine Ski Racing Coach, she has completed coursework with Pelvic Health Solutions (Level 1 certification) and Athletic Movement Assessment (Lower Extremity). She is very excited to be a part of the team at Reactivate Muskoka, and to live in Muskoka with her husband Kip where she can continue to engage in her favorite activities including running, skiing, yoga, hiking with her dog, and exploring her surroundings!
